These are my series of paintings inspired by Lion's Den Gorge in Grafton, WI. It's a beautiful, protected natural area, with a bluff along Lake Michigan's shore, a wildflower prairie, and a swamp area. These paintings were done from photographs I took in various seasons, from the deck built out over the swamp/marsh area. Most were created in oils, and the last one was painted with chalk pastels.
